Garlic - smells bad, does good
Garlic is not only good for flavoring your meals, it is used in many over-the-counter remedies throughout the
world. In fact, the ancient Egyptians put garlic on a pedestal and worshiped it for its
medicinal uses, while Greek athletes used garlic to give them vitality and strength. As I'm sure
you know, garlic has even been portrayed as something you could use to deter vampires.
Many herbal stores sell garlic in capsule form. While some say it can be used to treat many illnesses and medical problems when taken on a regular basis,
the most common reason that millions of people use a garlic pill daily is to help ward off coughs and colds. It is also used to clear bacterial infections and to keep the heart healthy. The good news is that if you take garlic in capsule form, you won't get bad garlic breath.
Garlic and heart disease
Garlic has a centuries old reputation for its healing qualities and is without a
doubt, the most popular herbal remedy of all times. A recent study showed that if you eat between
one half to one clove of garlic per day or take the equipment in capsule form, it can help reduce your cholesterol level by 9%. It is thought that older people can keep their veins more elastic and their blood pressure low by using
garlic.
Another study into garlic effectiveness in terms of reducing their risk of breast,
stomach and colon cancer is currently underway, and the American Heart Association now recommends the use of garlic to ward off the onset of
heart disease.

medications such as blood thinners, antibiotics, anti-fungals and steroids, it inhances the effects of these medications. However if you're taking any of these medications as prescribed by your doctor, be sure to get his or her
advice before supplementing your medications with garlic.
