Dong Quai - the 1,000-year old natural supplement
Dong quai is the ancient herbal recipe

Dong quai is a plant widely known in
China, Korea and Japan. It is found at high altitudes and its yellowish brown thick roots

Laboratory tests have shown that dong quai
has proven to be effective in reducing pain, dilate blood vessels, and relax uterine contractions. Other studies have suggested that dong quai could be used to restore an abnormal heartbeat, and stop the
accumulation of platelets in blood vessels.

The most popular methods for using dong
quai are in dry and powdered form. It can also be used as a liquid. To use the dry herb, which is taken from the raw root, you should boil it or at the very least soak
in wine before eating. The powdered herb is usually found in capsule form. The normal
recommended dosage is around 500 to 600 mg and can be taken as many as six times a day.
The liquid form is usually taken as drops. The usual recommended dosage is between 40 and 80 drops per day, which is the equivalent of taking
2 to 4 teaspoons.
While dong quai is considered to be one of the safest of herbal remedies, there are still some considerations you should take into
account. The side effects, which are rare and occur, only when high dosages are taken, are an
enhanced sensitivity to sunlight.
